Since 1992, I've made 25+ trips to Nepal and worked with many, many outfitters, and can easily say Apex is in the top tier. Joris  For me it was a dream come true to go trekking in the Nepal. The nature is breathtaking, it takes no effort to surrender to the beauty. What I never expected was the incredible added value of our guide (Bikram Karki), from the first moment at the bus his energy just shined through. Fredrik E(Stranger,Norway) Trek: Mount Everest Three Passes Trek, 17 days When I came to Kathmandu I did some research about the best trekking companies in Nepal and I came across Apex Himalaya Treks and Expedition Pvt. Ltd. And without really knowing much about the other companies who operates from Kathmandu, choosing Apex is the best decision I could have made. Apex is mainly run by the two brothers Bimal and Bikram who is doing a fantastic job together. At first I wanted to do just the classic base camp trek but then I realized the three passes was more suitable for me. When doing three passes you not only get to see Everest up close from Kala Patthar while at the same time doing the base camp, but you also get the opportunity to challenge yourself by doing the three passes and in a loop return to Lukla - where you started. The three passes: Kongma La, Cho La and Renjo La is by far the most advanced and challenging trek I have ever done in my life so a good guide is a very important factor. I did the Three Passes with Bikram Karki and I can easily say he is by far the most professional and knowledgeable guide I have ever had the opportunity to trek with. I have done some treks before, Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu among others but this being a once in a lifetime experience and at the same time a very strenuous trek I couldn't have wished for someone else. Besides being a guy with a good sense of humor and a never tiring smile, Bikram knows a lot about the area he is trekking in, this is his life for sure. He was raised in the mountains and this is his passion so naturally it shines through to you as a client in every way possible. Among Bikrams many positive abilities I would mention: excellent client/customer service - he knows how to treat his clients in the best way possible from day one all the way to the end, expertise as a guide not only when it comes to proper acclimatization but also in interpreting his environment and making the best decisions for his clients, being very responsive and always listening while at the same time also always eager to learn something new and his ability to make you feel right at home – even though you are trekking the Himalaya. Bikram is aiming high in life and I wish him all the best in his future endeavours, not the least which is climbing Mount Everest next year. Before I decided on going with Apex I met up with Bikrams brother Bimal at their office in Thamel to discuss the itinerary among other things. I knew right away that these guys know what they are doing. Bimal is very communicative and easy to talk to. He has excellent customer service abilities, answering e-mails faster than I could even write. I had a lot of questions before my trek, but I never felt that Bimal got tired of all my questions and he answered everyone of them with precise and good knowledge. He also took the time to guide me through Thamel to buy the last things on my packing list so that I came as prepared as possible for this trek. Bimal was also present during our entire trek via phone with his brother, coordinating from the office and updating his brother with important information. When it comes to the trek itself, one word: amazing. I have never seen views quite like it and we had fantastic weather almost the whole trip. I would recommend doing the three passes in november to early december, even though its cold the air is totally crisp and the peaks – which you came to see – are as clear as the blue sky. We slept in tea houses and ate very good food along the way, met wonderful people and had a great time. I will remember this for the rest of my life. I know how hard it is to make a decision which company to go with in the end, someone like me always tries to weigh in every positive aspect against the negative – but trust me on this one - choosing Apex will not disappoint you. Nixeij Apex Himalaya is a professional and credible trekking company located in Thamel. My friend and I randomly decided to trek in Nepal for the first time, and embarked on the 7-day Langtang Valley trek from 29 Oct 2018 - 4 Nov 2018. Views were incredible and the "hills" are endless!! Majestic snow-capped mountains were breathtaking and their presence spurred you to trot on despite the fatigue. It was an encouraging experience for a first-time trekker. Bimal is extremely passionate with what he does. He explains in details to simple questions which I casually asked and generously hosted a lunch event on my departure day. He wasn't dismissive and simplistic with his replies, and I could tell he had much more to share if time permits. The guide during the trek was unfortunately less enthusiastic and informative. Mark Deffy  (USA Newyork) Bimal and Bikram Karki are the two brothers responsible for Apex Himalaya and they really cared about meeting our needs and making sure we had the very best experience. My son took me on my dream trip to Trek the Annapurna Circuit. We arrived on October 17 in Kathmandu for our 22 day trip. Apex arranged everything and they handled all details well. Tshiring Sherpa was our guide and Arun Gautam was our porter. These two men took extraordinary care of us. They did everything from handling lodging and meals, carrying loads, teaching us some Nepali, and playing Nepali card games with us for the nearly three weeks we were together. My son is 29 and I am 63, while I am a seasoned backpacker, I had serious concerns about my ability to do the full Itinerary we had arranged. Our Trek around Annapurna also included a side trip to Lake Tilicho, two days later we were over Thorang La Pass at 17,764 feet! There was no need to worry, I worked hard but I was able to do the full itinerary because of the support that Tshiring and Arun provided. They carried extra load to assist me and were with me every step of the way, including playing music for me when I requested it during hard uphill segments. Our trip was all customized and I asked for private transportation, still the price was very reasonable, especially when you consider that a trek done during peak season requires a good deal of logistics and arrangements while on the trail, all of which Tshiring handled flawlessly! As if all of this were not enough....the Karki Family took us into there home during a major festival for dinner and a blessing, and at the end of the trip we had a momo party together. Deborah Fleischman (Minnesota, USA) My friend and I were lucky enough to find Apex Himalaya when looking for a trekking company to trek to Langtang. My first inquiry was answered in just a few hours, as was every question I had after the first one. This told me the company was dependable. We were off to a good start. After we arrived in Nepal, the driver waited over 2 hours for us at the airport, and took us to a friends house, a place very difficult to find, all with a smile on his face. But the best part was our guide Santosh and porter Krishna. We felt bad that our bag was so heavy, especially being that we are people who are used to doing everything for ourselves, and were astonished that Krishna could carry it the way he did, always with a smile on his face. We were very slow hikers, and one day Krishna came back down the trail after leaving our bag at the tea house, to ask if he could carry our daypacks! That was such human kindness, it really touched my heart. Santosh was also very professional, personable, knowledgeable and kind. Without him and his encouragement, I doubt we would have made it to Kyangin gompa. He encouraged us by telling us stories, to keep our minds off our tiredness; answered our many questions about things we saw on the trail and Nepali life in general, and kept us entertained with his humor. He went above and beyond what was expected of him. He even showed me how to correctly wash clothes by hand! He made the trek very memorable and fun, even though it was one of the hardest things I've done on my life. Patrik & André (Czech) We had the pleasure to book our journey to Mera Peak, Hinku Valley and Amphu Lapcha pass through Apex Himalaya and could not be happier. We are 2 thirty year old Swedish guys looking to experience high altitude climbing. We met Bimal in his office in Kathmandu and discussed the route we wanted to do and the different options available. After comparing to many other local agencys we returned to Bimal and booked our trip. Belinda Cowan (Ottawa, Canada) We took a 6-day trek on the Anapurna loop. We were a three-generational group ranging from 7 to 76 years. Our guide Bikram and three porters made the entire adventure exciting for all of us on and off the trail. The children were completely entertained by Bikram while the porters were attentive to the old folks ensuring that stumbles did not become falls. Bikram is very personable and kept everyone up-to-date on each day's expectations in terms of challenge, weather, and accommodation. The guide and porters ensured we were cared for at the tea houses and even assisted in the preparation of our meals. Our fitness was assessed by observation and by using an oxygen blood-saturation device at one point (all was well). The accommodations were well selected to provide excellent views of the surrounding mountains. This group was very experienced, well equipped, and provided wonderful support throughout the entire trek. Our observation is that other groups on the trek were not as well provided for as we were. There was on-going communication between the guide and porters on the trail (one at the front and two back) to ensure that the entire party was doing well and to assist if required. We would not hesitate to recommend Apex Himalaya Treks to others and are contemplating another (more challenging) trek with them in another part of Nepal. Joris Van Doorslaer (Belgium) (Unleashing of Potential) With a group of 6 people we did the Langtang trekking, 6 days (4 days up and 2 days down) that lead to a 5000m summit. We combined it with our personal development program ( Unleashingofpotential.com ) because the trekking in nature is a beautiful physical challenge that teaches you so much about yourself, which we will do again next year (April or May) because it was so incredible. This is the 2nd time we came back to Nepal, first time we did the Anapurna trekking with Apex. Our guide was Bikram, together with his brother Bimal he runs Apex. Bimal is the guy to be in touch with to prepare, he is always on top of the preparation. Each time they are able to turn the experience into something magical. The fact that we chose to go with them again is a testament to the trust we have in these guys. Each time they deliver on exactly what we need. Up front they provided us with great details and preparation tips. For this trekking we were for the first time going up to 5000 meter, which concerned me a bit for the altitude. And all my fears were disolved by our guide, he prepared us extremely well by helping us acclimatize ahead of time and explaining the whole process in a very reassuring way. Aside from great technical knowledge, it is especially their kindness and willingness to help that make me recommend them to whoever is planning to go to Nepal. If you go, for sure you need to go in nature. Then you for sure need to find someone who can show you the Nepalese culture and bring you to great place. Having a guide takes all your worries away, they make sure you always have the best sleeping spots and have great relations with all the local food places.
