Apex Himalaya is a professional and credible trekking company located in Thamel. My friend and I randomly decided to trek in Nepal for the first time, and embarked on the 7-day Langtang Valley trek from 29 Oct 2018 – 4 Nov 2018. Views were incredible and the “hills” are endless!! Majestic snow-capped mountains were breathtaking and their presence spurred you to trot on despite the fatigue.
It was an encouraging experience for a first-time trekker. Bimal is extremely passionate with what he does. He explains in details to simple questions which I casually asked and generously hosted a lunch event on my departure day. He wasn’t dismissive and simplistic with his replies, and I could tell he had much more to share if time permits.
The guide during the trek was unfortunately less enthusiastic and informative. Bimal took that feedback seriously and was more than willing to improve – and because of this, I’ll definitely be joining a trekking tour again with ApexHimalaya!

Bimal and Bikram Karki are the two brothers responsible for Apex Himalaya and they really cared about meeting our needs and making sure we had the very best experience. My son took me on my dream trip to Trek the Annapurna Circuit. We arrived on October 17 in Kathmandu for our 22 day trip. Apex arranged everything and they handled all details well. Tshiring Sherpa was our guide and Arun Gautam was our porter. These two men took extraordinary care of us. They did everything from handling lodging and meals, carrying loads, teaching us some Nepali, and playing Nepali card games with us for the nearly three weeks we were together. My son is 29 and I am 63, while I am a seasoned backpacker, I had serious concerns about my ability to do the full Itinerary we had arranged. Our Trek around Annapurna also included a side trip to Lake Tilicho, two days later we were over Thorang La Pass at 17,764 feet! There was no need to worry, I worked hard but I was able to do the full itinerary because of the support that Tshiring and Arun provided. They carried extra load to assist me and were with me every step of the way, including playing music for me when I requested it during hard uphill segments. Our trip was all customized and I asked for private transportation, still the price was very reasonable, especially when you consider that a trek done during peak season requires a good deal of logistics and arrangements while on the trail, all of which Tshiring handled flawlessly! As if all of this were not enough….the Karki Family took us into there home during a major festival for dinner and a blessing, and at the end of the trip we had a momo party together. Use Apex Himalaya you will be pleased!

My friend and I were lucky enough to find Apex Himalaya when looking for a trekking company to trek to Langtang. My first inquiry was answered in just a few hours, as was every question I had after the first one. This told me the company was dependable. We were off to a good start. After we arrived in Nepal, the driver waited over 2 hours for us at the airport, and took us to a friends house, a place very difficult to find, all with a smile on his face.
But the best part was our guide Santosh and porter Krishna. We felt bad that our bag was so heavy, especially being that we are people who are used to doing everything for ourselves, and were astonished that Krishna could carry it the way he did, always
with a smile on his face. We were very slow hikers, and one day Krishna came back down the trail after leaving our bag at the tea house, to ask if he could carry our daypacks! That was such human kindness, it really touched my heart.
Santosh was also very professional, personable, knowledgeable and kind. Without him and his encouragement, I doubt we would have made it to Kyangin gompa. He encouraged us by telling us stories, to keep our minds off our tiredness; answered our many questions about things we saw on the trail and Nepali life in general, and kept us entertained with his humor. He went above and beyond what was expected of him. He even showed me how to correctly wash clothes by hand! He made the trek very memorable and fun, even though it was one of the hardest things I’ve done on my life.
I definitely recommend Apex to anyone looking for a dependable, professional and knowledgeable trekking company to guide them into the Himalayas. Bimal, Bikram, Santosh and Krishna, the four people from Apex we met, live their job and it shows!

These guys!! I’d be back for another trip with them in a heartbeat! Bikram was our guide for 2 weeks (9 days in the Langtang, Himalayan mountains), Bimal was the logistics god behind the scenes, amazing team work! Langtang National Park trek was something else! Tamang National Trail, living in the homestays of indigenous people, NOT touristy places – that was the best! Overwhelming amount of information, I just got back to the US and I’m mentally still on the trek with everyone. Our team of 9 people became a family! The company owned by 2 Karki brothers, which could perform perfect and complete service including trekking route design, reasonable and reliable arrangements, thoughtful guidance for mountaineering even for fresh man, as well as respect treatment. We had the pleasure to book our journey to Mera Peak, Hinku Valley and Amphu Lapcha pass through Apex Himalaya and could not be happier.
We are 2 thirty year old Swedish guys looking to experience high altitude climbing. We met Bimal in his office in Kathmandu and discussed the route we wanted to do and the different options available. After comparing to many other local agencys we returned to Bimal and booked our trip. We had quite specific demands and a tight schedule to do it on, Bimal and Apex were able to offer exactly what we wanted. They adapted it to our wants and the price was competitive.
We ended up taking a jeep heading to our destination only 6 hours after booking. Apex had arranged the climbing permits to be shipped to Lukla by the time we arrived there. Enabling us to save important time.
Throughout our 21 day hiking trip we were in close contact with Bimal, he answer all of our questions and concerns. He was very considerate and checked that everything was okay, since we were without a guide most of the time, except for the peak climbs.
Not everything went flawlessly but when we needed help Bimal came through and helped us, making our experience with Apex Himalaya a truly great one. We are certain that we could not have found a better agency for our Himalaya adventure.
