Day 01: Arrive Paro by Druk Air 

Day 02: Excursion to Taksang  

Day 03: Paro - Jele Dzong: Alt 3700m/ Distance 10 km/ Time 3-4 hours. 

Day 04: Jele Dzong - Jangchulakha: Alt 3700m/ Distance 12 km/ Time 4-5 hours. 

Day 06: Jimilangtso - Simtokha: Alt 3485m/ Distance 11km/ Time 3-4 hours. 

Day 07: Simtokha - Phajoding: Alt 3870m/ Distance 10km/ Time 3-4 hours. 

Day 08: Phajoding - Thimphu: Alt 2439m/ Distance 8km/ Time 3-4 hours. 

Day 09: Thimphu Sightseeing 

 Day 10: Departure.

Tour Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive Paro by Druk Air 

On arrival, you will be greeted and escorted by our representative to your hotel. After the refreshment, Paro sightseeing; visit National Museum, Paro Rimpung Dzong , Ruins of Drukgyel Dzong, Kichu Lhakhang . Dinner and overnight in hotel. 

Day 02: Excursion to Taksang 

The hike to Taktsang, the Tiger's Nest takes 4-5 hours. This magical monastery clings to a vertical cliff (800m) above the valley. Legend says that Guru Padmasambhava (one of the greatest saints of Buddhism) flew here on the back of a tigress - hence the name - to meditate. After the completion of his meditation- he built the monastery. In evening, If you are not tired visit some typical Bhutanese farm house. Take rest to prepare for the trekking next day. 

Day 03: Paro - Jele Dzong: Alt 3700m/ Distance 10 km/ Time 3-4 hours. 

Today is a short trek. The trail is gradual till the camp and if the weather is clear, Paro valley can be seen surrounded by snowcapped mountains. 

Day 04: Jele Dzong - Jangchulakha: Alt 3700m/ Distance 12 km/ Time 4-5 hours. 

The trek begins with a gradual climb and takes you through the thick forest of dwarf rhododendron, maples and junipers. You may see yaks and the yak herders around your campsite. 

 Day 05: Jangchulakha - Jimilangtso: Alt 3800m/ Distance 16km/ Time 6-7 hours. 

This trek offers great scenic beauty to some of the most famous peaks of Bhutan. The trail follows through the ridge of alpine forest and you would see lot of wild onions as you walk. The campsite is nearby Lake Jimilangtso. These lakes are known for their giant sized trout and if you are lucky you may enjoy a well prepared lake trout for dinner. 

Day 06: Jimilangtso - Simtokha: Alt 3485m/ Distance 11km/ Time 3-4 hours. 

You walk through the fresh Rhododendron bushes along the shores of glacial lakes till you reach Lake Jenetso. Here you may have the opportunity to get the glimpse of a nomad's life. The campsite is close to Simtokha lake. 

Day 07: Simtokha - Phajoding: Alt 3870m/ Distance 10km/ Time 3-4 hours. 

The trek gradually ascends to Phume la(4210m). From this point you can get a spectacular view of Mt. Gangkhar Puensum(7541m),  the highest peak of Bhutan and the highest unclimbed peak of the world. You can also get a view of Thimphu valley. From this pass you walk down hill to Phajoding Cafeteria for a night halt. 

Day 08: Phajoding - Thimphu: Alt 2439m/ Distance 8km/ Time 3-4 hours. 

The trek to Thimphu is a leisurely downhill stroll through the dense forest of blue pine. Back to hotel for a hot shower and enjoy the evening at your leisure. 

Day 09: Thimphu Sightseeing 

Visit Tashichhoe Dzong , the National Library, Folk Heritage Museum and Textile Museum, Painting School and the Institute of Chusum. After lunch visit the Memorial Chorten (built as a tribute to late King), Dechen Phodran, Simtokha Dzong (the first Dzong built in Bhutan) and if it is Saturday or Sunday you can also visit vegetable market. Drive back to Paro for the night. 

 Day 10: Departure 

In morning, our representative will bid you farewell at Paro Airport.

For the next five days you walk 6-7 hours each day, making numerous ascents and descents with flowers, juniper and medicinal plants.
